How Chinmay Overcame the Struggles of Learning Tabla: Brahmagiri

Chinmay Behera was born on 12/08/2010 in MOTA village of Puri district. His father’s name is Pabitra Mohan Behera and his mother’s name is Padamabati Behera. Currently, Chinmay is studying in class 7 at Gurukul Ashram, Madhya Pradesh. Since childhood, Chinmay has been very interested in education.

At the age of 3, he became very interested in music. He regularly participates in the Bhajans and Kirtans held in the village. Since his grandfather Manguli Behera was a mridangam player, Chinmay expressed his great desire to see Chinmay playing. Seeing Chinamay’s talent, the teacher who came to his village was very pleased.

Seeing Chinmay’s playing, his teacher was amazed. Everyone liked his rhythmic finger movements. Seeing this, the teacher told his father that your son Chinmay will make a name for himself in mridangam. Seeing his son’s interest, his father bought a mridangam for Chinmay. Seeing Chinmay’s ability in the Gurukul Ashram, his teacher got him trained in the tabla section. As a result, he became very interested in tabla during the winter.

Along with his studies, he goes to many festivals to play tabla. He has participated in many programs organized in Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Bageshwar Ashram etc. and has won first place in tabla. In 2023, Chinmay wrote Ramayana in Hindi at Bageshwar Ashram and stood first by securing 80 percent marks.

Along with this, he was among the top 8 students of Gurukul organized in Ala Uddin Khan Sangeet and Kala Academy in Gyaliare. In fact, Chinmay has progressed further for his success and interest. This success has been selected for his interest in GUINESS BOOK world record. The parents say that God is blessing Chinmayi’s hard work. Hearing this, the entire village seems to be very happy.
